These are the Essentials We Believe
About God - God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. Genesis 1:1, 26-27; Genesis 3:22; Psalms 90:2; Matthew 28:19
About Jesus Christ - Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. Matthew 1:22-23;
John 1:1-5; John 14:10-31; Romans 1:4
About the Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily. II Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; Ephesians 5:18; John 14:17
About the Bible - The Bible is God's word to us. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because God inspires it, it is the truth without error. The Bible was not written only to educate us, but to change our lives. Psalms 119:19; II Timothy 3:16
About people - People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God's creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God. This attitude, called sin, separates people from God and causes many problems in life. Genesis 1:27; Psalms 8:3-6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2
About eternity - People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:17-18; Revelation 20:15
Our Tenets of Faith are
The Inspired Scriptures - The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired and infallible revelation of God to man and the authority of faith and conduct. This assembly accepts the Bible as the revealed will of God, as the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice, and for the purpose of maintaining general unity of our statements of faith.
The One True God - The one true God has revealed Himself as the "I Am," the Creator and Redeemer of mankind.
The Deity of Jesus - The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death, resurrection, and ascension to the right hand of God.
The Fall of Man - Man was created good and upright; however, man voluntarily transgressed and fell, and thereby, is spiritually dead and away from God.
The Salvation of Man - Man's only hope is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation is by faith through grace and demonstrated in repentance.
Ordinances of the Church - Water Baptism in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost and by full immersion; and Holy Communion (The Lord's Supper), consisting of the Body and Blood, represented in the bread and the fruit of the vine.
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit - According to Acts 1:8 and Acts 2:4, with one of the signs being speaking in other tongues, along with various other gifts.
Sanctification - The act of separation from that which is evil and dedication unto God.
The Church and Its Mission - The Church is the representative of Jesus on earth and is to carry out the Great Commission.
The Ministry - A divinely called and scripturally ordained minister has been provided by God to lead the church in evangelization, worship, building the body, and general leadership of the church.
Divine Healing - Is provided for today by the Scriptures and included in the atonement for our sins.
The Blessed Hope and Millennial Reign - The resurrection of the just is the blessed hope of the Body of Christ. The Second Coming of Christ includes the rapture and a return to earth by Christ with His saints for a thousand-year reign.
The Final Judgment - There will be a final judgment at which all men will be judged.
The New Heaven and Earth - All of God's children will reign forever in a new heaven and a new earth.
Our Accountability
Healing Place Church is accountable to four presbyters: Wayne Austin, Dave Ohlerking, Jim Rentz, and Gary Simons. These men ensure that HPC remains spiritually, financially and organizationally sound. In addition to our presbyters, we have a group of Pastoral Vision Advisors and a Financial Office. These people oversee the proper organizational and financial structure of the church. We also have a C.P.A., Paul Ramsey, to help ensure financial accountability and strict conformance to all regulations for IRS and other purposes.
