Serve your Community
Jesus has not called us to just serve within the church, but to serve as if the church had no walls. Healing Place and our Serve Team reach out to the community on a daily basis, providing and caring for those in need of help- but also giving the community an example of the love of Jesus, acting as His hands and feet.
Our Serve Team ministers by mowing and cleaning yards, hosting block parties, painting houses, cleaning schools in the inner city and by passing out everything from bubble gum to students during lunch on LSU’s campus to cold drinks to car drivers at street corners in hot Louisiana summer afternoons during rush hour. Serve Team plays an important role reaching out to several assisted living facilities and nursing homes in the community throughout a normal week. We also take an active role during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons by distributing food and gifts to the Baton Rouge area as well as our other campuses’ communities all over the world.
We summarize this mentality with one word: Servolution. To create a revolution in the world today by serving- breaking down stereotypes and instead unconditionally loving everyone around us- is the purpose of the Servolution.
