Athletic Complex

The Healing Place Athletic Complex was designed with families in mind. Our goal was to create a first-class athletic facility where children and adults could come to play sports in a safe environment. Completing this complex means that we are able to extend out beyond the walls of the church and reach out to the Baton Rouge community and surrounding areas in a greater way, fulfilling our mission to be a healing place for a hurting world.

All of our sports programs are open to any child or adult who may want to participate. In the future, we will be accessible to the community by hosting tournaments and allowing outside groups to use our facilities. The HPAC consists of 3 baseball/softball fields, 2 are designed for youth (12 and under) and one is designed for adults but can be used for high school baseball. All 3 are multi-functional. The complex is equipped with an indoor concession stand, restrooms, and press box. It also includes a state of the art playground and lit basketball court. There are lights on the 2 youth fields and in the near future we will be putting lights on the large baseball field and also adding a soccer complex. All of the fields here have been carefully constructed with the best materials.  We’re so excited about all the fun we’re going to have using it!

Children’s Cup Field

Since 1993, Children’s Cup has been reaching out to help children in the hard places of the world. Currently focused heavily on sub-Saharan Africa, much of their work is with some of the world’s 14 million AIDS orphans. Dave Ohlerking, the founder, has had a tremendous impact on the development of the passion for missions at Healing Place Church. For nearly a decade, we have been heavily connected to Children’s Cup and their work in Zimbabwe and Swaziland. We purchased land for their first CarePoint in Mozambique, which now also houses the Healing Place Church Mozambique campus.  And we are excited about the Healing Place Church campus in Swaziland as well.

Barriger Field

Robert Barriger is the pastor of Camino De Vida in Lima, Peru and has been a great friend of Healing Place Church since the day we met him. He and his wife moved to Peru twenty years ago, and they have invested much of their lives into reaching the children of Peru. They have two orphanages, caring for children who have been victims of abuse and terrorism. Robert’s abandonment to the call of God and his passion for the hurting children in Peru have been contagious and challenging to us. It is an honor to be partners with him in reaching out to a hurting world.

Sequiera Field

Dr. Reuben Sequiera was a dean at the Bible college Pastor Dino attended and it was Dr. Sequiera who held him accountable through those years. Dr. Sequiera is a brilliant man with a very clear understanding of holiness and passion to help people live the life God intended. Pastor Dino describes Dr. Sequiera’s influence this way, I don’t know for sure whether there would even be a Healing Place Church if it were not for Dr. Sequiera. Thank God for men like Dr. Sequiera who take an interest in helping younger men step up to the calling God has on them.
